Summer Fun Means Water Parks To Explore

All the best waterparks in the United States.

There are several water parks to explore and enjoy with the entire family this summer. In the United States alone there are countless parks that have become holiday destinations because they have the biggest or longest or scariest ride. We have narrowed down a list of the best in the land to five and will tell you what makes each one special to help you decide which to visit.

1 – Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

The Disney Corporation is already well known in the amusement park world but did you know they have several water parks as well? There are two in Florida alone. One is an adult-themed park named Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. The second, family-friendly spot is Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. This one has a lazy river, Ketchakiddee Creek where the whole family can just chill or join up for a relaxing ride down the Crush ‘n’ Gusher.

2 – Sahara Sam’s Oasis Indoor Water Park

You noted the word ‘indoor’ right? Well, this year round water park is located in New Jersey and offers all kinds of water fun. Try your surfing skills out on the surfing simulation, enjoy lazy river rides or hit the water slides. This family-oriented site known as Sahara Sam’s Oasis Indoor Water Park is wet ‘n’ wild and has a huge arcade on-site so you can pace yourself and dry off between trips in, on and under the water.

3 – Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

Located in California, the Six Flags brand has a long history with family-themed parks. Hurricane Harbor is no exception. There’s something for each age group ranging from kiddies’ rides up to larger (translation: scarier) ones. You have not experienced Six Flags Hurricane Harbor until you take a trip down Tiki Falls which sends you on your way through a completely dark 385-foot tunnel.

4 – Schlitterbahn

Everything is bigger in Texas and that includes water parks. Schlitterbahn has over 40 attractions on-site so everyone in your family will find something they will like to do. Don’t forget the sunblock and wide-brimmed hat to protect you in the Texas-style heat. You’ll be glad you did after flying through the Raging River Tube Chute. Or you could just tan a bit as you relax at the Beach Wave Pool.

5 – Noah’s Ark

In Wisconsin, they have what is known as the largest water park in the United States. It is called Noah’s Ark and it occupies 70 acres of prime real estate. The park includes two massive wave pools and a ten-storey tall, 400-foot long water slide called Scorpions Tail. It sends you at an amazing 50-foot-per-second speed that will separate the men from the boys. Plus there are lots of family activities on-site.

Make It A Great Summer Getaway

Before you load up the family to head to one of these or any other water park be sure you have all you need to make it a great experience for all. In addition to the standard gear you’ll need such as beach towels, bottles of water, lunch and snack foods, don’t forget to pack along your favorite beach toys and sunscreen protection.
